Built in collaboration with Periphery founder and modern metal pioneer Misha Mansoor, the plugin delivers an uncompromising suite of amps, pedals, and experimental effects designed for players as innovative and adventurous as Misha himself.

Few guitarists embody modern metal music quite like Mansoor. He has consistently pushed the boundaries of metal, redefining how it is written, performed, and recorded. With the introduction of Archetype: Misha Mansoor X, Neural DSP and Mansoor have created a comprehensive toolkit that reflects this fearless approach to sound.

Special FX

True to Misha’s restless approach to modern metal, the Special FX lineup delivers tools built for exploration and discovery.

• Laser: A proprietary dual-algorithm effect combining ring modulation and pitch shifting. With 19 presets and pedal/envelope modes, Laser transforms guitar tones into futuristic, laser-like textures – perfect for breakdowns, transitions, and experimental soundscapes.

• Glitch: A granular processor that chops, reshuffles, and reimagines guitar signals into stutters, textures, and chaotic new patterns. Four unique modes (Pitch Delay, Sequence, Interfere, Texturizer) and a Chaos macro let players dial in anything from structured rhythmic effects to unpredictable sonic explosions.

Pre FX

Featuring faithful recreations of Misha’s Horizon Devices® Compressor® and Precision Drive®, along with a Dual Octaver, Tape Echo, and the brutal Chaos distortion, the Pre FX section covers everything from subtle tone-shaping to thick, synth-like layers and chainsaw-inspired grind.

Amps

Three distinctive amps capture Misha’s approach to tone across the full spectrum of modern metal.

• Clean: A versatile American-style amp with glassy headroom and luxury watch-inspired design.

• Rhythm: A brutal high-gain hybrid, purpose-built for tight, percussive riffing, visually inspired by supercar engineering.

• Lead: A custom-modded British-inspired design delivering expressive sustain and searing solos, sleekly styled to match its refined performance.

Cabsim

Each amp is paired with its own meticulously captured cabinet, featuring a total of 378 impulse responses by Adam “Nolly” Getgood. Seven virtual microphones can be freely placed for unlimited tonal variation.

Post FX

With a Modulator that blends chorus and flanger textures, a Stereo Delay equipped with a built-in ducker, and a dual-mode Reverb that shifts from lush ambience to expansive Shimmer, the Post FX section delivers everything from subtle depth to wide, atmospheric soundscapes.

Archetype: Misha Mansoor X also introduces a new Preset Explorer, designed to make browsing and managing presets faster and more intuitive. It features 34 presets by Misha himself, plus 338 more from acclaimed artists, producers, and the team at Neural DSP.
