Neural DSP Enters the Vocal Production Market with Mantra: A Complete Vocal Studio in One Plugin
Mantra brings Neural DSP’s acclaimed innovation beyond guitar and bass, delivering professional-grade vocal production in a single, intuitive solution.
HELSINKI, FINLAND, July 23, 2025 — Neural DSP, known worldwide for pioneering guitar and bass processing, today announced its expansion into vocal production with the launch of its first-ever vocal plugin: Mantra. Designed to reimagine the entire vocal chain, Mantra unifies every essential tool for recording, mixing, and shaping vocals into a single, intuitive interface – eliminating the need for complex plugin stacks and enabling faster, more inspiring vocal workflows.
“Our mission with Mantra was simple,” said Francisco Cresp, CPO and Co-Founder of Neural DSP Technologies. “We wanted to put a world-class vocal studio into one plugin so artists can focus on feeling, expression, and performance instead of wrestling with technical hurdles. Mantra marks an exciting expansion into the broader world of audio production, giving vocalists, producers, and creators a powerful, streamlined way to achieve incredible results with no compromises.”
Traditionally, vocal production has meant piecing together multiple plugins for pitch correction, EQ, compression, gating, de-essing, harmonies, and effects – a process that often disrupts creative momentum. Mantra brings all of these tools together in one sleek interface, helping users move from raw take to polished mix without breaking their creative flow.
“We believe technology should serve the art, not get in its way,” added Francois Barrillon, Plugin Product Manager of Neural DSP Technologies. “Mantra removes barriers and gives creators the freedom to experiment, push boundaries, and trust their instincts – knowing their vocal sound will stay consistent, inspiring, and professional from the very first take.”
Built leveraging Neural DSP’s expertise in modeling legendary analog gear, Mantra delivers the warmth and musicality of vintage hardware with the precision, control, and reliability of modern digital processing. Whether used for singing, rapping, voiceover, podcasting or streaming, Mantra adapts to any vocal style, any voice, and any creative vision.
And Mantra’s capabilities don’t stop with vocals. Its flexible architecture can also be used on synths, drums, guitars and other instruments. It’s a sound-shaping powerhouse that rewards experimentation.
Key Features
Mantra offers two distinct modes for total workflow flexibility. Tracking Mode provides low latency and light CPU usage for confident real-time monitoring, while Mixing Mode delivers enhanced quality and detail for final vocal polish.
Its Correction Section combines pitch correction (Tune), gating, de-essing, and the powerful Sculpt module, which intelligently analyzes your voice and mic in real time, then applies a refined tonal curve, bringing clarity and presence instantly. Think of it as 80% of your EQ work done in seconds, with no setup required. In Mixing Mode, Sculpt adds dynamic spectral shaping that tames harshness and balances your vocal tone, like a smart multiband compressor, without needing to set anything up.
Mantra’s Multimode Compressor provides three classic flavors – Tube, Stress, and Multi – for musical, aggressive, or modern compression. The Multimode Saturation module offers Tape, Tube, and Digital modes to add warmth, drive, or gritty textures.
Harmonies and Effects That Inspire
Harmonies: Stack up to eight pitch-shifted voices with natural variation in pitch and timing. From subtle doubling to full choral textures, build layers effortlessly.
Delays: Four unique delay types – Analog, Tape, Stereo, and Dual – each with a built-in ducker to keep echoes clean and tucked.
Reverbs: Hall, Plate, and Ambiance modes add spatial dimension while keeping vocals front and center.
Modulation & Doubler: Studio-grade Chorus, Flanger, and Phaser effects, plus a proprietary Doubler for realistic width and thickness – no second takes required.
“Most vocal tools are either too basic or too complex," concluded Cresp. “Our goal with Mantra is to strike a balance, offering an intuitive solution that benefits both beginners and experienced producers alike. That vision has come to life, and we look forward to growing alongside our community as they redefine what’s possible in vocal production.”
