How to update to CorOS 3.0.0

CorOS 3.0.0 has been released, bringing the highly anticipated Plugin Compatibility (PCOM) along with several other enhancements and improvements.

To take full advantage of these updates, we recommend that all Quad Cortex users update to CorOS 3.0.0.

Please follow these instructions to ensure a smooth and successful update.

1. Preparation

Before initiating the update, we strongly recommend that you create a backup.

The CorOS 3.0.0 update cannot be initiated via Cortex Control 1.1.0. We recommend not having Cortex Control running during the update to avoid any potential conflicts.

2. Initiating the update

Important: Ensure you are in a location with the strongest and most stable Wi-Fi connection available before starting the update.

Begin the update process by navigating to Settings > Device Options > Device Updates on your Quad Cortex once connected to Wi-Fi.

The entire update process takes approximately 30-35 minutes, during which the Quad Cortex will reboot several times.

Do not interrupt the firmware download, firmware updating, or bootup processes. Interference during these stages can cause issues and may require restarting the update.

3. Post-update actions

If you were signed into a Neural DSP account that has Archetype: Gojira X and Archetype: Plini X licenses linked to it prior to updating to CorOS 3.0.0, you will need to refresh the licenses on your Quad Cortex after the update.

You can do this by pressing the Refresh button within the 'Plugins' device list menu, pressing the Refresh button in the 'Plugin Presets' menu in the Directory, or by rebooting your Quad Cortex.

Your Neural DSP account can be used across three Quad Cortex units, and when CorOS 3.0.0 is released, you will be able to link 3 iLok accounts to your Neural DSP account.

4. Compatible plugins

Upon the release of CorOS 3.0.0, Archetype: Gojira X and Archetype: Plini X will be compatible with Quad Cortex. Visit our Plugins page to purchase licenses for these plugins.

Other plugins will become Quad Cortex-compatible as their supporting CorOS versions are released.
