CorOS 4.0.0 and Cortex Control 4.0.0 are now available

We’re excited to announce the release of CorOS 4.0.0 and Cortex Control 4.0.0. This update introduces full support for Quad Cortex mini, new virtual devices, and a range of workflow and usability improvements across the Quad Cortex platform.
Quad Cortex mini and Quad Cortex run on the same version of CorOS and use the same version of Cortex Control, meaning updates are released at the same time for both devices.
To take full advantage of these updates and ensure full compatibility across devices, we recommend that all Quad Cortex and Quad Cortex mini users install CorOS 4.0.0 and Cortex Control 4.0.0.
What’s new in CorOS 4.0.0
Quad Cortex mini support
CorOS now adapts its user interface and feature set based on the hardware being used. When running on Quad Cortex or Quad Cortex mini, the interface adjusts automatically to match the hardware type.
Custom Device Name
You can now assign a custom name to your Quad Cortex device from the Device Information menu.
The selected device name and hardware type are shown in the upper-left corner of the Cortex Control app, making it easier to identify and manage multiple devices.
Hold Timing Menu
A new Hold Timing option is available in the Device Settings menu. This setting defines how long a footswitch must be held to trigger its assigned HOLD action, with an adjustable range from 500 ms to 1000 ms.
Gig View Footswitch Access
This feature allows Gig View to be toggled using footswitches and can be enabled in the Device Settings menu.
On Quad Cortex, press and hold BANK DOWN + TEMPO to toggle Gig View. Mode cycling is triggered when the footswitches are released.
On Quad Cortex mini, press and hold A to toggle Gig View.
Scenes Dropdown
You can now tap the Scene indicator at the top of the Grid or Gig View to open a dropdown list showing all available Scenes in the currently loaded Preset.
From this list, Scenes can be viewed and selected quickly, regardless of the active mode.
Booting tooltips
During startup, short informational tooltips are displayed on Quad Cortex and Quad Cortex mini.
These messages cycle automatically and randomly every few seconds, providing helpful tips and information while the device boots.
Gig View Opposite Page Preview (Quad Cortex mini)
On Quad Cortex mini, Gig View displays the opposite content page for Scene and Stomp modes.
When Page I is active, the content of Page II is shown below each footswitch card. When Page II is active, the content of Page I is shown above each footswitch card. This provides additional context without requiring a Page change.

Changed
The Neural DSP logo has been updated throughout the user interface.
The Master Volume overlay has been redesigned. On Quad Cortex mini, it now features a horizontal, touch-sensitive volume fader for improved control. On Quad Cortex, the control remains non-touch.
CorOS and Cortex Control now share the same version number, making software compatibility clearer and easier to understand.
Fixed
An issue where dragging a Cloud Preset to a Setlist not sorted by Banks could cause a system crash.
An issue where incoming Expression Pedal messages could affect the wrong device block on The Grid.
An issue where Looper X did not respond to MIDI messages unless its parameter editor had been opened first.
An issue where half of the display could temporarily turn black when opening the Neural Capture Cab/IR menu after exiting a Virtual Device in the Cab category.
An issue where parameters from outputs 3 and 4 could overlap in the I/O Settings menu.
An issue where recently uploaded presets were missing from the Cloud Presets folder after scrolling to the bottom of the list.
An issue where the Cory Wong The 80s block switched from Bypass to Mute after moving a Dumbbell ODS block on The Grid while sending Expression Pedal messages.
Several minor bug fixes and improvements.
